Increasingly, P-12 district and school leaders find themselves pressed by growing demands to improve student achievement. As they strive toward ever-higher academic targets for students, educational leaders are exhorted to increase collaboration and “share leadership” with teachers and other stakeholders to accomplish these gains. But what does the research say about “Distributed Leadership,” and what does it look like in practice? This online professional development course explores research and practice related to Distributed Leadership through online readings, activities, and collegial discussion. Participants are encouraged to build connections between course concepts, activities, and their professional work to increase distributed leadership practices.
